The Cumulonimbus Dominates in Denpasar’s Sky

2Indonesian Agency for Meteorological, Climatological and Geophysics or BMKG in Denpasar said that this strong wind conditions was influenced by Cumulonimbus, the sky which was formed before raining. Before the rain, there are some stages of post-breakup Cumulonimbus clouds. After a cloud burst become the wind, after that the wind will be formed the thunder and lightning until rain fall.

“The Cumulonimbus dominates in Denpasar’s sky and Southern part of Bali. The speed of strong wind is 45 kilometer per hour or can be more”, said Luh Eka Arisanti, the staff of Indonesian Agency for Meteorological, Climatological and Geophysics or BMKG in Denpasar.

After BMKG predicting the storm comes, the strong wind, heavy rain, and the other, so BMKG will give the information to the staff in harbor, airport, police, and the government. The information about climate is very important for the stakeholder, when the disaster the government can make a decision.

3BMKG predicts Bali will get the extreme climate like the strong wind and heavy rain on December 2015 until February 2016. They have been sent this information to Badan Penanggulangan Bencana Daerah or Regional Disaster Management Agency.

So expect the local government through the information could have anticipated. Because in today’s transition conditions, wind and extreme weather prediction has also been given the report. If a tree falls it depends on the strength of the tree as well. So we expect the stakeholder can concern to this conditions which BMKG was given, said Wayan Suardana, the head BMKG in Denpasar.

The normal wind was blown from south to west and the speed is 5 until 20 kilometer per hours. If the Cumulonimbus was come, it will become tornado. The impact of tornado is the tree was fall. Some trees in Denpasar was fall on last Saturday, 19th Dec 2015.
